The Movement: S.M.'s Diary of the VA Stand Up Concert

From start to finish..

We left the hotel later than scheduled due to just being women and wanting to look our best..hello, it’s a Chris Brown headlined concert. You never know who’s gonna see you so you always got to look your best. So we’re about 15 minutes before showtime and of course there’s traffic! While we are waiting for cars ahead of us to m-o-v-e, we had to check out what people were wearing and some of the show goers were very colorful. Everyone will be happy to know that yes, there were two long lines on both ends of the block and these are people waiting to PURCHASE tix for the event. Every time I attempted to take a pic of some of the crowd, Ms. Driver would pull up and I ended up with a blurry shot:(

Finding parking would’ve taken forever so the four of us decided to just park in the garage which was only $5..shocking because other events would’ve charged an arm and a leg..while we were going down the steps from the level we were on, two girls were going back up and saying “if you have a camera, you will be told you can’t bring them so you might as well take them back.” Omg, are u serious..we’re like, we tweeted that we would have videos and pics..we had three cameras charged up! Now we have to depend on our phone cameras..and I had just got a new phone so it’s like, yeah, I don’t know how to use this.. so we make our way to the VCU building, taking a short cut cuz we had heels on..hello..but the short cut didn’t really work since we had to go down to almost the corner to get in the long line..oh no, it was almost 7! Lines moved slowly of course but by fate, a lady working the event was several people ahead of us asking a few people if they had tix..thank God for my hearing! I made sure we followed those people cuz hello, we got our tix in our hands and we didn’t want to miss a sec of the show!!

After getting our bags checked and security waving that scanner over our bodies, we made our way into the gymnasium and were amazed at all the people that were already sitting since they were on time lol We found someone to tell us how we could make our way to the floor area where our seats were located. Halfway down the stairs, the overhead lights go off and people (girls) start screaming as though someone had came out lol We successfully made it down the stairs without killing ourselves..I mean, hello, we’d much rather die when Chris hits the stage!

Once we reached the floor area, we were escorted to our seats, we looked around and noticed how packed it was with more people still coming in. Full House YAY!! The show started late of course, you know us black folks! lol it's all good tho..we didn't want to miss a minute! Entertainment began with @comedianRonG who I remembered from a comedy show from the first joke he told us..if u want to know, js ask or check him out at http://www.gorong.com/ We had actually seen him down in the hotel lobby but if you don't know who someone is, you gonna keep it moving lol He had us rolling everytime he came out!

The first act was Leslie Ryan, I didn't know who he was until his third song (I'll make a list of all the songs performed on a post or page) and then I was like, oh, now I know him! He did a great job and spoke about the great cause, how he enjoyed performing and showed his appreciation to his friend Chris Brown. You can follow him on twitter at: @ryanleslie

Tank was up next and wow, age has done him well! Really got our attention when he took his shirt off wowser<<==is that even a word? Although he doesn't tweet often, his is: @TheRealTank

Mario...*say it outloud like Chris and Tyga do lol* Maaa-Rrrriiiooo did a great job! He sang some of his hits songs but not the one I wanted him to..from the first album..u kn which one I'm referring to: "Just a Friend 2002"! He also undressed for the ladies..follow him on twitter: @MarioSoulTruth

I believe during the intermission after Mario's performance was a video of Diddy who couldn't be there but said some inspiritational words about Chris \o/ @iamdiddy

Bow Wow came out next and performed the hits all the females knew, he really got the crowd hyped and everyone was up, singing along, dancing, and screaming! Just shows that he is still loved by his fans and he ended with saying how Chris is his best friend, his boy, and how happy he was to be there to perform and support him!! If you aren't following and would like to, his twitter name is his @BowWow

Ms. Keri Baby came out next and performed her songs that are out now including where it all began for her, "The Way I Are." Being the only female in the line up, Keri made sure she did her thing for the ladies by singing two more ballads and as others before her, spoke positively about Chris and doing more for others. Her twitter page: @MissKeriBaby

I had been apprehensive to watching T-Pain live on stage but once he hit and began singing songs that I loved, I really got into it lol He's very entertaining from using the entire stage to sing, dancing with two of his friends, including one that reminded me of Lil Wayne..actually imagined Weezy on stage..aw. Joke time came when he had to sit cuz he was too fat. He and his hype man asked which side of the venue was louder..the left side did aight but T-Pain's side (my side) was the loudest!! He talked about pretty girls and then admitted, "I was born with the ugly as hell gene so I'm not picky." He then discussed his close relationship with Chris: “I came out five years ago the same time as Chris and a lot of people said we wouldn’t last but we are still here.” I know the crowd, myself included was just hit with that memory! You can see how much Chris' friendship means to him and that no matter what, they will remain friends. Make sure follow at @NBTPAIN

When you in the crowd and you hear "Yuuup" u know it's the one and only Trey Songz saying it cuz it's his trademark. Another one of the crowd filled majorly with ladies favs, Trey began a melody of songs on the radio and songs from his latest album that his fans knew well. Of course he pleased the crowd with taking his shirt off! He spoke about Virginia, growing up in the state and how important it was for him to be apart of Chris' benefit. His show ended with his DJ calling him "Prince of Virginia."

Monica, yes Monica, just like Diddy, was on the screen speaking about the good Chris was doing. @MonicaMyLife Unfortunately, while she was speaking, the DJ that spoke so highly of Chris during his radio interview..the one who considered Chris family @BiGNAT804 introduced a man that needed no introduction: Chris Brown! Somewhere in between sets, a lil girl seated in front of us asked her father, "where's Chris?" aw, he's here now baby girl! Chris' portion of the show began with special effects including air being shot towards the ceiling from about four containers..it's like wow, Chris didn't hold back on entertaining the crowd! Of course he brought the energy to the crowd who had been enjoying the show for about 4 hours and were not disappointed with what Chris brought to the stage. After the intro film ended, Chris' four dancers were on stage, DJ Babey Drew and a drummer on a secondary level, Chris arose from behind the set and leaped down to the stage and started doing intricate moves with his crew.

He was memorable throughout his performance that included my fav songs, Crawl, Run It, FOREVER, the A capella Say Goodbye, bring out Tyga to do two songs, singing the chorus to Bedrock, Pretty Girls, and Big Booty Judy. When the lucky girl was picked from the crowd by security and brought to the chaise, she was really in for a treat..not only was Chris Brown talking to her with his song, Sex, and then Take You Down, two of his dancers including @only1zstarr were grinding around her..how could it get better? Let's just say Chris straddled her lap not once but twice! She handled it maturely by not overdoing any seductive moves as many others would have and it was still a tasteful set between them.

During a change of clothes, Renzo did a solo tap dancing performance including the Ruff Ryders infamous song Anthem..stop, drop, shut 'em down..Chris got the crowd into dancing to songs not done by him including showing us how to do swag n surf and getting hyped on all the way turnt up. He did flips and another set of crazy dance moves before becoming aware of how late it was getting (after midnight) and cut the show short..hmm..wonder what else Chris had in store for us!

Chris ended his show by thanking everyone for coming, becoming encouraging to us all and left after saying "I know I let Virginia down once, I won't do it again." Drew aka @DJBabeyDrew cut the music off after making the announcement, "Prince of Virginia." We were thinking more like, "KING of Virginia" cuz Chris shut it down!!

The boss says the order of the best from third to first were: T-Pain, Bow Wow, and Chris. However, my fav acts: Ron G, Bow Wow, T-Pain, and Chris Brown w/Tyga (#1)
